My preference is for Disk Warrior, for reasons that have been explained.

I do _not_ recommend Norton.  Here's why...

Norton has always had problems with updates to the OS.  If you get a 
newer version of the OS, there are changes that Norton does not expect. 
  It changes things back to the way they were, which actually causes 
more problems.

As a side note, when the OS is updated with changes that Disk Warrior 
does not understand, Alsoft has provided an updater that allows you to 
_burn_ a new bootable CD with Disk Warrior on it.  For free.

Also, Norton Utilities for the Mac is no longer being updated, so it is 
a moot point.
