[DM-MUG] Problem with old iMac

You'll probably need to replace the analog video board or power supply.
I've stopped doing this kind of repair because it requires a lot of
disassembly, waiting for parts, and then if it's the other board,
you're out more time and money. It's frequently not economical unless
you buy parts on eBay and you're never quite sure in what condition
those parts are. I'd estimate at least $300 and possibly more depending
upon whether or not the shop you choose actually wants to make money on
the repair. You could try calling Haddock on 8th Street in WDSM at
225-9040 if you still want to repair it.

For the money, I'd back up the data, and consider saving up for a new
one when this one finally goes. I might be interested in it for parts
regardless.

I'm also looking for deceased Airport Base Stations (preferably
Graphite's, but I accept all models) and various other unused/broken
Macs, monitors and peripherals. Call me at 453-2775 or e-mail me at
mattw@technicalmac.com.
