[DM-MUG] Problem with old iMac

I'm just guessing, but it sounds like the power supply has a problem. That 
could conceivably make a snapping sound and would cause the monitor to flicker. 
I don't know what could be done about it though. I suppose replacements are 
available, but it may not be worth the cost.
