I've listened (?) to this discussion and it's=20
been fascinating and helpful and I think the last=20
point about
m, I'm sure any of us in the Users' Group would=20
be happy to offer technical or persuasive=20
assistance in any way you see necessary. Good=20
luck.

may be key. I don't know which school system=20
you're in, but in these days any system that=20
actually works to be mono-platform and to prevent=20
the use of whatever machines and OS are best for=20
the users has a pretty big problem (esp. if its=20
an Educational institution) - I would think that=20
in an educational entity, even the techies would=20
be supportive of more learning (i.e. of a new or=20
different OS) rather than less....so yes, if=20
there is any such persuasive assistance, to=20
educate people that we should try to work=20
together, might be a good thing. I'm a 100% Mac=20
person myself, but when my kids years ago=20
discussed why they wanted a PC, I didn't go nuts=20
- it joined the network and while it doesn't get=20
much use, at times it's handy to have around (not=20
the least of which because it still has a floppy=20
drive!!) -- so keep working on breaking down=20
barriers
