[DM-MUG] Airport Extreme Base Station - with or without antenna?

A point of clarification:

The standard Base Station and the one with the modem BOTH have internal
antennas and have the same range. Both models also have a USB port for
printer sharing, and a LAN port to connect your wired network to your
wireless one.

The model with the modem has a port for an external antenna, which you can
purchase SEPARATELY, to increase or target its range.

The price difference Is about $100. If the antenna jack and/or a shared
modem are important to you, you may very well want to bump up. However, my
standard model reaches all around my home, and even out into the yard. I
can't reach my garage, but if I'm that far away, my signal (and transfer
speed) would be very weak anyway. I plan to run a Category 5e cable to
connect the buildings, then add another base station.

You can expect either model to have a range of about 90 feet, if no
obstructions (concrete walls? major appliances? large electric fields?) come
between the base station and the remote computer.

Hope this helps with your decision.

Peace,
CW
