[DM-MUG] Compatibility with OS 9

This list (http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n25114) is the "supported" 
list of hardware. You may also (using 3rd party software of course) 
install a more recent OS than is "supported" on a certain computer. See 
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/OS9/os_9_2_1_install_mods.html.

In general I do not do this, but for some users with a heavy investment 
in older devices (SCSI, ADB, Serial port), a processor upgrade, or 
perhaps a USB/FireWire PCI card, this may be worth the effort. 9.2 does 
run more slowly than 8.x, and even on a supported Mac there are reasons 
not to upgrade. A Power Mac 6300, for example, can run 9.1, but I 
wouldn't. It's just too slow. On the other hand, if speed isn't your 
first priority...don't let me stop you.
