Either the USB wireless card or the Antenna will make things better. Still,
the antenna in the airport base station is internal, and that=B9s a limiting
factor as well. I would think that 125=B9 is the most you=B9d get with apple=B9s
base station and an airport card, and that=B9s in a perfect world. 50-60=B9 is
about max. A lot depends on the structure of the buildings you are
transmitting through. Metal (air ducts in your heating system), thick
masonry and high voltage will attenuate or lessen signals, or even block
them totally. The problem I saw with the external antenna is the guy had it
routed through the PC card slot, which I suppose could interfere with havin=
g
a card in there. I would drill the case to put the wire through, but that=B9s
me. The Dlink USB adapter is $50 or less, so that may be a good try. Have
you thought about relocating the base station? Is it optimally placed?

Now I am confused...but only a bit. At
http://www.devdepot.com/wireless.html there are a number of options which
would be cheaper than going Extreme...right now I do have my PCCard slot
holding something so would rather not fill it, but I could easily enough.
The external antenna may be an answer. Will the external cards or antennas
help enough with a Snow Airport or are we really looking at a whole new
setup (gosh, maybe i have to buy a new Ti (Al?) Book???
