One thing to consider is removing any USB extensions that it doesn't need.
The USB Mass Storage Device extension can cause problems. The other thing is
to make a custom bootable CD with the drivers in that system and also, you
can always hold down the spacebar at boot, there by activating the
extensions manager and disabling software that way as opposed to booting
with extensions off.
