Hi Jon,

10.2.8 is a fine OS. Apps were more stable in general with 10.2, but
Panther has features I would not want to live without and I'm firmly in
the Panther camp now (10.3.2) and have no reason to go back. In fact,
since Disk Copy was rolled into Disk Utility in Panther (personal
irritant), I've wondered if the stand-alone Disk Copy (from Jag) could
be copied over and used. I'm happy to report that it does work under
Panther. Yay!

One key to remember: once you've done any install (Mac OS or
otherwise), run Disk Utility (Your Hard Drive : Applications :
Utilities) and repair permissions. This is a very useful pre-and-post
maintenance tool. Permissions are often modified by installers, even
Apple's.
