I have an iMac, eMac and iBook at school for 7th graders. They were attracted 
to the iBook first, but now the eMacs are the favorite! They like the way it 
looks and sounds. The iMac speakers are always in our way. My daughter was a 
communications major at Drake and took an eMac. It was also just fine when she 
switched to music and did quite a bit of work with music software.
I agree that the laptop is too easily removed! Also, kids get used to it, and 
become less careful about handling it.
