I now work with PCs and I can tell you it confirms what crap they are. The hardware is utter garbage and they run NT, 2000 and XP here. XP seems OK, but I wouldn't say it's increadibly snappy considering the speed of the computers. Since I upgraded to 10.3, I have had one kernel panic, and I run Apache, EIMS, and everything else that a desktop would run. I run FSCK every time I reboot and repair permissions everytime I install software and it's been trouble free.

<DIV>I just had to add my opinion about this discussion. Does anyone =
running the X system feel like it is more complicated than Windows?&nb=
sp; I keep reading about "log" files and going to the prompt line and typin=
g in a bunch of commands. Gee, this sounds like DOS and early windows=
stuff. I am still using OS 9.x on my older Macs and refuse to give u=
p the ease of use and stability I get most of the time. For more stab=
ility I actually use Windows XP. Easy to operate. Most of the time it=
is stable and fast. Over the last nine months it has only crash=
ed a few times. What happened to the nice user friendly Mac I grew up=
with. Why should I have to type something into a command line? =
Why aren't those instructions in some sort of menu under a utility to help=
the user through strange difficulties? I didn't sign up to become a =
Unix user when I chose the Mac as my main computer. I'm trying to still lov=
e Macs but this direction has really turned me off. And I just read t=
hat Symantec will no longer make Norton Utilities for the Mac. </DIV>
