[DM-MUG] Poping monitor

I had an old monitor doing that. The level of dust inside it was
allowing a capacitor to arc to the power supply every now and then.
Mine DID emit that classic electrical frying smell however.

But, if it's a multiscan monitor, it may just be trying to lock unto a
frequency from a confused or degraded signal. I had one that would do
that a lot too, without the smell. It was a tired old thing and had
trouble keeping up with contrast and brightness at differing
resolutions.

I'm thinking it would be cheaper to replace the monitor than to have it
fixed if that turns out to be the problem.

Hope this helps!
