Ray
I've had a number of hard drives go south over the years. The best way I've=20
found to get the info off is turn it upside-down so it rides on the upper=20
bearing which seems to last longer, make your copy. Then before you send any=
drive=20
back for replacement, burn it. I prefer 7 times at a minimum. So you don't=20
give anyone your personal or confidential information. When you have the inf=
o on=20
the new drive, run the usual test & repair software. I use TechTools 4, but=20
understand there are other good ones available. I used to use Norton, but th=
ey=20
don't seem to have kept up.
Good luck.
Very truly yours,
Michael R. Hoffmann
