[DM-MUG] Restoring after replacing drive

Hi,

I am sending in my wife's iBook for what will probably be a 
replacement of her flaky internal HD. I will have a number of clones, 
hopefully the one I am doing now, and am wondering about the restore 
process. If the drive were not acting flaky I would just erase the 
returned drive and do a clone of the latest backup clone. Would this 
still be the best way to do it or could the present problems cause 
this to be problematic?
