AlBook is what I have been using; I've ran into the same situation you
are having. Did previous TiBooks have FW800, though? I think if you
check Apple's support pages, they have something they tag onto it --
like FW800 or something? (My first TiBook was the original model from
2001, so I don't remember if the older TiBook ever got FW800).
Speaking of -- I picked up a 160GB drive from CompUSA ($60 after
rebate) a few weeks ago. My WD enclosure was dead so I bought another
one. This one supports USB 2.0 and Firewire 400. I ran some
benchmarks and the USB 2.0 was noticeable slower than FW400. A PC
friend of mine claims USB 2.0 is supposed to be faster -- is the Apple
implemention just not up to speed, or is there something else going on?

Subject: [DM-MUG] new albook codename
what is the codename for the newer Al powerbooks? (ie Pismo,
Wallstreet, etc?) I've got the newer 1Ghz G4 12" from the fall with
the mini-DVI. Is there a term I can google for that won't bring up the
older 867Mhz ones, or is albook the best there is?
