I hate to sound stupid, but it's not the lst time and here I go = I
was having problems with my Verizon Kyocera 7135 phone and took it to
the local store = they just gave me a brand, new phone (excellent
service) - but I'm not really clear on what I need to do properly to
get the new Veriz. phone to be a true clone of the old one. Of
course, I do have all my data backed up etc...
The new phone is new and has Palm software on it just fine (it also
has a better color display!) - before i mess it up, i want to be sure
of what I am doing ...so some stupid Q...
1. do I first run the Hot Sync manager so I can get the phone in
shape as a palm and have all the software there OR
2. do I do a simple Restore all devices and just let the computer
backup info restore everyone on the Kyocera?
3. If I have this new Kyocera do I have to deregister or erase the
old Kyocera in the iSync and Hot Sync Manager data memory and just
create a new one and back up or restore to it? Or leave it as if it
is already there and just needs data replacing?
I remember doing something like this awhile ago and had major
problems so I want ot do it right - do I just treat it as a new
device (in which case restoring the data won't work since it is
'new') or do I treat it as a cleaned off old device, the Kyo, and
just restore it as if nothign ever happened.
Thanks for any help with this = the iSync info didn't help at site or
discussions so thought would ask here....
