If you are indeed reformatting the hard drive, (1) should not be a=20
factor.

A note on the extended iBook repair program...  This has only to do=20
with a specific video problem, not other defects  in the logic board=20
that may arise.  Just because Apple won't fix it for free does not mean=20=

that the LB is 100% good.

I would also make sure firmware is up to date, and also replace the RAM=20=

with some known good.  Either of those could cause problems.  Finally,=20=

try and install the software from an external, bootable, firewire CD=20
drive.
