Hey there Ray,
I love tracking stuff like this down.
You saw the NAVMac800QSFile file in the list of files copied by CCC?
You should be able to see this in the terminal using ls -a or by doing
a search for the file in the finder. I'd have the find command look for
files that are invisible that have NAVMac in their name or something
similar. Once we can see the file, we should be able to get some good
info - like how big it is and what its type and creator are set to.
Just based on the name, I wonder if it has anything to do with Norton
Antivirus - do you have that software? Also, you might be able to force
an application to open the file by dragging it (say, from the search
results window) onto a text editor while holding down command and
option. I'd try TextEdit or BBEdit Lite.
