Yes, oh yes. The first caution I want to throw at you is the new 8 color
printers from HP. Don't buy one. There is no need for 8 separations and no
software is designed t take full advantage of it anyway. (It's not just the
drivers that matter)

If you want vibrant, crisp prints with an ink technology that lasts, you need to
purchase an Epson Stylus Photo printer. They simply cannot be beat. If speed is
more your concern, HP has that pretty well cornered. I admit I haven't used a
Canon product in years, primarily because their quality level had slipped so far
even Aple dropped them as a rebranding manufacturer.

As far as scanners go, once again you'll have the best luck with the Epson
Perfection series. Not because the scanners themselves are so wonderful, but
because the HP scan software is about the worst available out there. For
top-of-line scanning, you need to look at AGFA. (I used to say UMAX, but they've
made a departure from scanning with OS X) The problem there is the cost factor.
