It sounds like you have a handle on things, but you did bring up
something that me and my wife constantly disagree on. She likes
everything looking neat and tidy, while I would rather mix and match
parts from different manufacturers to get a (hopefully) better
performing system.
Another drawback with the all-in-one units is, they only have one power
supply. So, if you have a problem with that, you lose everything anyway,
whether you send it out for repair or not.
But don't mind me. My wife was talking about getting one of those too.
