I'm going to reply to this on list, so that anyone in a similar situation can deal w/ it themselves.

If you're on this list it is because you were in the dump I did last night of all the members on the Topica DM-MUG list, or you subscribed yourself since then.

> sake of switching OSes. There's been still enough loose ends in 10 to
> make me want to wait awhile longer, plus $129 isn't something to spend
> casually unless you're one of the moneyed rich.

I can understand why you are still using OS 9 if your only experience
w/ X is w/ 10.1.x 10.2 is what tied up a lot of those "loose ends" I
wouldn't recommend upgrading to 10.2 at this point though since 10.3 is
imminent. I ended up buying a new mac that had 10.2 on it - just the
speedup would've been worth it though (as long as you were using a
machine w/ a good enough video card). Now I'm facing that same upgrade
price (I wish they'd pick a bit lower number I admit) for Panther and
I'll probably pony it up - not because I'm "moneyed rich" (I work for a
NPO for Pete's sake) but because I see a value in the additional
features (and the fact that Apple will soon slow rolling out the
patches for 10.2) Also, many of the best new free apps you can get from
Apple are 10.2+ only. I'm not for blindly switching things either, but
I'm also against blindly staying put.

So, how do you all like the "new" list? am I the only one getting
through? How about some traffic to test it??
