[DM-MUG] Is there a way to hold opened things in the center of display?

In OSX, is there a way to get windows to open up in center of display 
(I have the Cinema Display) and not always end up going to the Left 
side of the screen???  I don't mind placing things there, but prefer 
to have things open dead center if possible.  It's an ergonomic issue 
for me.
