[ciapug] PHP 5.3

Step 1: Get 5.3 DEV server
Step 2: Deploy pre-5.3 code to DEV server
Step 3: Say a prayer and fire up browser

Actually ported some already and it's really not that bad, though, all
required some minor changes.
