There are a lot of Lurkers on this list so feel free to always send out an email. I will be speaking at Zend Con this September and probably should give the same topic to CIPUG shortly after.

Subject: [ciapug] PHP User group

Hi folks, just curious to see if this list and the User Group are still active.

My company is exploring PHP as an application unification prospect and I've been tasked with putting together a POC application, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to check and see what if there is a local community to share with.

We're going to be using the Zend PHP integration with i5/OS, db2, and apache.

I had heard of other frameworks but didn't give them serious consideration due to maintenance and support concerns. I went with Zend Framework (they're in bed with IBM) for the POC app and it seems pretty easy for a noob to pick up and get proficient with in a relatively short timeframe.

If the group is active, please let me know, I'm interested in sitting in and getting different perspectives on usage, portability, and viability.

Thanks
