I haven't used htdig so I can't help?
I have used mnogosearch which does scan https and you can
configure it to scan folders with htaccess set.
But I have found issues that it does not seem to like Slack
10? It runs really slow. And I have not been able to
successfully get mnogo to search for a URL? It seems that a
period is a stop character
