[ciapug] Re: Has anyone done the update to MySQL 5?

Mike Parks mparks at captainjack.com

I tried it on my server at home, going through the procedure that mysql.com
has listed. My advice "Do a complete sql dump of everything first!!!"

The problem is that some of the structure is different in 5. I ended up
trashing 4, then setting up 5 and using the SQL dump to populate it.

I'm sure I may have missed something in the instructions that mysql put on
their site?
