I suppose I should start by reading the online manual. I'll give that a
try.

Subject: [ciapug] PostgreSQL question

I updated my SUSE 9.2 installation to 9.3 last night and all of my software
is now a different version. I have PHP5 instead of PHP4, which hasn't
affected any of my web sites (they all run just fine with PHP5). Somewhere
along the line, I saw a message saying my database was still using
PostgreSQL 7.4, and I now have PostgreSQL 8 installed. I think it said
something about deleting the database and recreating it to get it upgraded.
I made an SQL dump, so it would be fairly easy to drop the database and
recreate it. Is it really that simple? The old one is still functioning,
so I'd like to know what I'm doing before I try to delete it.

Anybody have any experience with upgrading PostgreSQL?

I thought Al Gore invented it. I've been using it for about 1 year now. Oh
well, happy B-Day!

It was PHP's 10th birthday yesterday...

Most of us haven't been using PHP for that long. I remember messing
around with it when it was still called "php-fi"... and it was a huge
pain to get it installed and working. :)

I didn't really start using it until after PHP3 was released.
