Ask him to join the group. Ask him to sponsor the group. Ask him to pay
for the sponsorship and tell him he can get benefits for doing so, such as
posting job openings on the web site, etc.

Subject: [ciapug] PHP Dev Contract

I just received a phone call from a guy at Robert Half Technology about a
PHP developer contract position that begins this Monday. He wasn't sure how
to go about contacting the group without coming across as some sort of
spammer. (My paraphrasing, not his words.) He has been involved in a
number of PHP projects in the past few months and expects to see some more
in the near future.

Should I simply ask him join the list? Or is there any historical precedent
here about who can/can't participate? I, personally, would be interested in
a potential small side project here or there. I'd also make the argument
that this fits with the groups purpose of promoting php locally.

Anyway, here is the little bit of info I have about this current project.
If you're interested, I'd contact him ASAP:

" I am currently in the position of looking for a PHP developer with
experience with mySQL and it would be a strong plus if the individual had
exposure to JAVA Script but not a mandatory skill. This is a contract
position at this time assisting a local company here in the Des Moines area
who is experiencing a work load increase that there full time staff can not
handle.

Robert Half Technology is a premier staffing firm that specializes in
the placement of contract technology professionals. I work with a number of
individuals in the area and would like to ask if you might be able to send
this information to those that are members of the local PHP users group. If
you or anyone else has any questions please feel free to give me a call or
send and email. If there is a better way for me to contact the entire
member group than through yourself please let me know. I look forward to
having the opportunity to share this great opportunity with your user group
and hope that you find it of value as well. "
