[ciapug] Converting docs to pdfs

Images can be converted to PDF using "convert" which i believe is part of
ImageMagick. Multi-image files (such as some TIFF files) will even be
converted to a multi-page PDF. The downside to convert is that it is very
slow and uses an obscene amount of memory (as in, to convert a 50 page TIFF
to PDF you should probably be running on a machine with at least 1 GB RAM,
maybe 2... i used a machine with 2 and it worked).

For plain text documents (notepad) you could probably convert the text to
PostScript, then convert that to PDF. For proprietary documents, i don't
know. I recently set up a web based document converter that could handle
Word documents; i believe it required wv to be installed to do the
translation.
