My opinion is Point-n-click visual is only really good for putting 
together complex HTML layouts that would be difficult to code by hand.

I use UltraEdit (like DaveC) on Windows, emacs when I can on *nix 
(otherwise pico or vi as available) and BBedit on the Mac. Boy do I 
OS hop.
