[Cialug] Death of Winblows?

Linux desktop has been very good for productivity and general purpose use
for years. Also since a large percentage of what people do is in
browser-based apps, your OS isn't really that important, so why waste your
life running Windows or waste your money running OSX? None of my personal
computers are new enough to support Windows 11 requirements. The only thing
I need Windows for is for a few games, and a couple of Windows only
applications that I use occasionally.

Linux is behind for gaming, but only because game companies choose not to
support it. On games that do have good Linux support (i.e. many Steam
games) the performance is great. Steam has sometimes pushed for more Linux
support, they have the market share to force the issue if they really
wanted to.
