Ubuntu 16.x is out of support and should not be used in a production environment. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Without seeing the exact logs it's hard to say, but there are generally some substantial differences between LTS versions. The specific message you mentioned sounds like there's something using GPG keys rather than SSH keys, so perhaps the other install is using standard SSH keys?

Subject: [Cialug] Ubuntu issue

Always have avoided Ubuntu, .. so wanted to ask folks much more current:

An Ubuntu 18.04.6 LT droplet is throwing a lot of log messages regarding:

        GnuPG cryptographic agent (ssh-agent emulation)

This appears to be related to the Nagios login every 15 minutes, but
another Ubuntu 16.04.7 LTS has no such log trail.

Is there a difference that would have the 18.04 system uinge GhuPG while
the 16.04 shows no such log trail?

        Thankes!
