[Cialug] Video Conferencing

I really prefer to use WebRTC in Firefox where I can.

I have no problem using Google Meet (Formerly Google Hangouts Meet) in
Firefox and Chrome.

With Microsoft Teams, I used to use the WebRTC version of the app to spawn
test meetings but have since moved to their desktop client.

As to Zoom, I tried to join an Ames City Council meeting on Zoom in Firefox
but was unsuccessful and I refuse to install the Zoom client on anything
but a machine I'll purge afterwards.

For my day to day video needs, I use a Cisco DX80 which is a nix based
appliance on the Pexip service.

For the Pexip service, we support web and desktop methods to join, we don't
distribute our Linux client but I can provide deb and rpm builds if anyone
happens to be a user of the Pexip service. I've been pushing for use to
officially distribute our Linux builds in a similar fashion to how Spotify
supports their Linux builds.
