I'm confused how you expect to test these if they won't spin up? Sounds like the test failed.

Subject: [Cialug] Testing SAS drives

Getting hard to find 2T SAS drives any more, .. so I got some on eBay.

Would like to test them, however, before attempting a rebuild.

So, .. why not get a SAS - SATA adapter and drop them on a test machine?
Well, that's a nonstarter - drive won't even spin up.

What is required? Would like to verify the partition table (blank,
right?), and maybe run testdisk on a drive that will only come up
"Unconfigured (good)".

        TIA!
