[Cialug] Website testing

I second the sentiment that if sed -i is "not on a production server", than NONE of it should be done on a production server.

As a wise person once said... "Everyone has a test environment. Some people are lucky enough to have a production environment, too."

What server software is it that isn't respecting /etc/hosts? Is
/etc/nsswitch.conf set to use files?
