[Cialug] Request for Ideas: Home Storage/Backup + VPN Access

I don't have all of the parameters yet, but a friend has asked for an
easy-to-manage home storage/backup plus VPN access solution. They'd
like to keep it under $1k USD, if possible. This will be a green field
implementation, as all they have now is their ISP-provided router.

VPN access would be granted to friends of this friend, so the
management interface and client-side implementation needs to be fairly
easy, favoring ease on the client side.
