We have used rsnapshot for 10+ years, .. it is pretty much bulletproof,
unless a link fails in the middle of an update. In that case, just roll
back the daily versions and you're off and running again.

The simplicity of a file-backup solution [almost all of our requirements
fit that mold, with the exception for an occasional database that we just
dump an hour before the backup], IMHO, outweighs the complexity of
learning a new system that might change with the next update.

We use the same scripts for rsync/rsnapshot that we started with those 10+
yearns ago, never had any problems except for link volitility.

OK, .. took a look at it - there does not appear to be any way to
replicate a backup schema??
