[Cialug] How normal is it to ask for w2s and pay stubs as part of the interview process?

I’m with Scott, too.

I’ve only had one request for a pay stub. A very long time ago a 
prospective employer offered me a job at twice my current salary and 
asked me to bring a recent stub to my interview, so they’d know exactly 
how much they’d be paying me.

They made good on their offer. :-)
