[Cialug] ? Bulk Transfer Emails from CenturyLink q.com to Gmail

Here is how to do it:

1. In the Gmail web app, create a label for imported e-mail - avoid
punctuation and spaces to improve compatibility
2. Send yourself an e-mail and give it that label, or use one already in
your inbox
3. Connect to Gmail using your preferred e-mail account insuring that you
use IMAP to connect to Gmail, not POP. (details in Settings -> Forwarding
and POP/IMAP)
4. You should see a folder with the same name as that label
5. Drag the e-mails you want to keep from your old e-mail provider into the
"folder" in your mail client. It will be slow.
6. Confirm that it's working by going to the gmail web app and seeing the
new messages arriving with that label

Optional step: In your gmail settings, go to "Accounts" and set it up to
check mail from the pop account until the old account is disabled.
