[Cialug] Cheap/Free Computer Junk

Third try.  Painfully reformatted.

My "servers" have been retired for a little while.  Because of an ISP switch I lost the ability to have static IPs.  Also tinkering time was drastically reduced and then seeing how much I now save by heating with natural gas vs running a server farm put the nail in the coffin.

Anyway this is what I've inventoried so far that I'm getting rid of one way or another.  Most of it probably doesn't have much monetary value.  So make an offer or just convince me to give it to you for free. :)

All computers are without hard drives.  I can put one in it and boot it up to a blank OpenBSD install but I rather not give the hard drives away.  I'll probably find more stuff to give away as I clean up the basement.

I'm located in south west Ames and are most likely available in the evenings after 6pm.

Computers:
* Gateway ATXSTF-OXN Select SB (tower)
  - AMD Athlon 1 GHz
  - Chipset Via KT133/KT133A
  - Memory (RAM): 768MB (3 x 256 MB modules)
  - 5 PCI slots
  - APG video card
  - 100Mbps ethernet card
  - Floppy drive
* Compaq Presario (series CM0902 tower)
  - Celeron 700 MHz
  - Chipset Intel 810E
  - Memory (RAM): 512MB (2 x 256MB modules)
  - 4 PCI slots
  - On board video and audio
  - CD drive
  - Floppy drive
* Compaq Deskpro EN (desktop)
  - Pentium II 266 MHz
  - Chipset Intel i440BX

  - Memory (RAM): 32MB
  - On board video
  - 1.4MB floppy drive
  - 3 full height ISA slots
  - 1 half height ISA slot
  - This computer has been used as a (transparent) firewall.  Great for 10 Mbps firewall (see SMC8432BT network cards) or simple server applications (DNS / web server).  Don't run GUI.  Has been reliable and seems to want to run forever.

Network Cards:
* (2x) SMC 8432BT
  - ISA card
  - Supports 10BASE-T (10 Mbps ethernet) and 10BASE2 (10 Mbps network using coax cable)
  - One manual present
  - These two cards were used in the Compaq with an OpenBSD firewall.
  - Long time ago I used coax cable to network two computers without the need of a hub/switch/router.
* ISA NE2000 Ethernet PnP
  - same thing as the SMC 8432BT just generic brand
* Gateway / SMC
  - another one of these 10Base-T/10Base2 cards.
  - Manual

Graphics Card:
* GeForce MX4000 D128M
  - PCI card
  - VGA & S-Video out
  - 128 MB DDR
  - Box and driver CD
  - Passive cooling element (great for server/quiet usage)
* Trident PS66
  - PCI card
  - VGA out
  - Nice small card for a server. No fan, not even a cooling element.  Just pure no frills.

Sound Card:
* Ensoniq Soundscape Wavetable Sound Card (Gateway)
  - ISA card (large)
  - Jacks: Mic/Line, Output, CD/Aux, Joystick/Midi
  - Manual

Modem Card:
* Zoom/Fax Modem 14.4PC
  - ISA Card
* Gateway/US Robotics Telepath 33.6
  - ISA Card
  - Manual

I/O Card:
* ISA Parallel & Serial Port Card
  - Rear: one parallel and one serial port
  - on board: IDE, Floppy, Game, COM2
  -

Encryption Card:
* Broadcom BCM95805
  - PCI card

CD/DVD Drive:
* Gateway 4x IDE CD-ROM 3 Disk Changer
  - Model: CDR-C3G
  - Manual
  - Was kind of stupid for spending the extra money on this thing at the time I purchased it.  But hey, if you want to tinker and a CD changer sounds cool, be my guest.

Memory
* 1GB DDR2 DDR2 PC2-6400S ADOVF1A083F2G (for notebook)
* (2x) 64MB PC133 SDRAM HYS64V8300GU-7.5-C (Infineon / HP branded)
* (4x) 64MB PC100 SDRAM THMY6480F1BEG-80 (Toshiba / IBM branded)
* 64MB PC100 SDRAM HYM7V64801T FG-10 SM (Compaq branded)
* (2x) 4MB 72 PIN MT8D132M-6 EDO

Case/Computer Carcase
* Gateway 2000 P5-120XL
  - Tower
  - Power supply
  - Motherboard
  - 4 memory modules (not sure what size)
  - Fan
  - Processor (upgraded)
  - 4 PCI & 3 ISA Slot
  - Haven't used it for ages and it's well gutted. But I guess there are enough parts here to build it up again if you enjoy that kind of pain.
