Two things:

A) Depending on how your installation of postfix is setup it will run some services chroot'd. Check for a /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf (or equivalent if you don't use /var/spool/postfix) and make sure it matches your actual /etc/resolv.conf. If you don't have such a file try adding one (note that it must be a copy or hard link; symlinks won't work through the chroot).

B) `dig` does not use the standard hostname resolution routines (for example, is not influenced by /etc/nsswitch.conf) -- instead it reads /etc/resolv.conf directly. So it's not the best way to check that your system is correctly resolving DNS queries.
