That's a great idea, but what makes them think the media companies are
going to be willing to deal with them when all of the other attempts at
this have failed with one major partner or another?

I think the interviewer hit the nail on the head, and the Ubuntu rep didn't
have an answer for it.

The problem is the media companies want to keep control of the whole
experience, and / or don't see the value of getting their content out to
more viewers.

I may have to install it on my Atom net-top PC and give it a spin.
