I think you need to download the headers or the kernel source for the version of Linux (the Linux kernel) you are using.
uname –a at the command line will tell you the kernel version.

I was following a set of instructions on the internet for installing VMware 2 and all was going well until it got to the below point: I tried to let it create the modules as described and that did not go well. Any ideas?
This is my first try at using VMware. I have used Windows virtual machine and virtual box before.
