[Cialug] OT: Question about a Windows OS install disk that I've listed on eBay

The sku is just the part number. No more of a threat than telling someone a barcode off a package. That said, it probably is a microsoft person making sure it's not an oem copy. Just don't send the product key.

Subject: [Cialug] OT: Question about a Windows OS install disk that I've	listed on eBay

I'm wanting to sell my full, retail copy of Microsoft Windows Vista
Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit DVDs) via eBay. I have a question from a
potential buyer who wants me to send him the SKU number from the packaging
label. I am suspicious. Is this a Microsoft troll checking to confirm my
ownership of the software? Is the SKU number something that a cracker
could use to install a warez copy of Vista? Go figure !!! Thanks. Rob
