[Cialug] Basic email *client* for Debian 6?

Working on setting up a Debian 6 backup email server, .. and I just
realized that there is no email client installed by default (a la 'mail')!

Every other 'Nix system I have used for 20 years had mail available if the
user did not want a 'heavy weight' system, .. but, alas, no more.

Is there an installable option for a simple, command line, email client,
or should I go grab a copy of alpine?
