Feel good you can get 5 - 700K. We are still on Dialup and running 20K - 22K on a good day.

Living in the country we are too far out for cable or DSL and too far out for Prairie Inet and with a daughter in grad school Satellite is too expensive.

I was never able to connect to my parallel port printer after I got a new mother board which went out when my power supply fried. It didn't have a parallel port on it and the card I put in didn't work and the USB to parallel interface I tried to use didn't work either. We finally had to get a USB printer.

Considering my in-law's were still on dialup until about a year or so ago.... Even their DSL only pulls 5-700k...! Although at this point you'd be hard pressed to find a PC let alone a laptop with an RS-232 port it seems.

There's always a niche for something. I'd almost completely forgotten about dot matrix printers until I just bought a new car. The dealer still printed paperwork on a dot matrix printer since the impact is needed for the duplicate forms they use.

After the recent events in Egypt, you never know. I'll probably keep mine.
