The next meeting will be held at Ames Public Library at 8pm on
Thursday December 9th. The doors will open at 7:30pm so if you want to
show up early, feel free. If you haven't been to the Founder's Suite
yet, just go to the information desk and they'll direct you.

Jonathan Kollasch will make a presentation on coreboot.

coreboot (formerly known as LinuxBIOS) is a Free Software project
aimed at replacing the proprietary BIOS (firmware) you can find in
most of today's computers.

It performs just a little bit of hardware initialization and then
executes a so-called payload.

For more info, check out http://www.coreboot.org

We'll also share our FOSS experiences and have a good time. Bring your
laptop with your favorite distro and any questions that you may have.
And if you have the time, come on over and join Will at the Olde Main
for a good brew after the meeting.

OFFICERS NEEDED: We need a Press Relations officer. If you'd like the
position to put on your resume, please mention it at the next meeting.
