[Cialug] CIALUG server update

There has been some off-list conversation about updating the CIALUG server.

The current box is an old cobbled together 900mhz Atlhon PC with 256mb
RAM, a 120gb HD, running Debian 4.0 (updated, but still and older
distro), which has been graciously co-lo'd by Dan Arthur at Freese-Notis
for several years.

We have a couple of options:

1. Move the server over to a newer OS, on a VM image, Dave Weis has
offered to host that on his VM server at Internetsolver. (Not sure - is
that Xen or VMWare, Dave?).

2. Update the server to newer hardware. There are a couple of offers for
hardware, Josh has something we could use, I have a DL-360 etc.

I would think option 1 would be the best way to go. There are obviously
other options...

We don't really have an official server crew... the current server is
mostly maintained by Barry, has had some help from Josh, DW, Kevin
Smith, and Bryan Baker and I helped out with it way back. If any of you
would like to help out, let me know. I don't have any current official
capacity for this, just offering to help coordinate.

Thanks,

-dc
