[Cialug] portable, configureable ubuntu....

If you have the ability to run one of the VM systems (VMWare, Xen 
etc...), you could just carry around a VM image... that will abstract 
the hardware issues, but you have to have the player installed on the 
host PC, which isn't always an option.
