If you are politically minded (globally) you might want to read this. 
It's a very short HOWTO for setting up a proxy server so that Iranian
citizens can get news out to the rest of the world:

Clearly, doing something like this is a personal decision, and I don't
want to sway anyone either way on the issue.  It is just rare that a
grassroots technology like Linux can have a large impact on immediate,
real world events, so I wanted to pass the word along.
